Chapter 314

Elope (2)

Jiang Mingwei had long been ignored by Ye Luyan. In fact, had it not been for their chance meeting today, Ye Luyan might not have remembered having such a sweet romantic encounter a year ago. He just brought Jiang Mingwei back for the novelty, and once Jiang Mingwei had gone away, the novelty had long since vanished.

Mu Mingtang, however, was different. She was Xie Xuanchen’s main wife. Seeing how Xie Xuanchen was protecting her that day, Ye Luyan knew that this woman was very important to Xie Xuanchen.

Ye Luyan thought the news was a very important breakthrough. Xie Xuanchen formerly known as the God of Killing was a very tough person. So, if a woman actually managed to get such a gentle look from him, that woman should not be underestimated.

Because of this very reason, Ye Luyan greeted Mu Mingtang as soon as he met her. He originally planned to chat with Mu Mingtang to gather some information about Xie Xuanchen while he was absent. However, his plan failed miserably because of arrogant Xiao Siyi.

Ye Luyan had no choice but to apologise on Xiao Siyi’s behalf when Xie Xaunchen joined them as he was afraid to make trouble in this situation.

Even after Ye Luyan finished speaking, Xie Xuanchen entirely ignored his presence.

After Xie Xuanji realised that Xie Xuanchen was missing, he was afraid that Xie Xuanchen would cause some trouble, so he hurried to look for his cousin. When he walked to the flower garden, he just heard Ye Luyan’s apology.

“The banquet is about to begin, so why are you all outside?” Xie Xuanji asked with a proper smile not betraying his inner emotions in the least.

Xie Xuanchen showed no expression at all, acting pletely indifferent. Ye Luyan originally felt unfortable, but after hearing Xie Xuanji’s words, he felt forted and immediately addressed him, “It turns out to be His Royal Highness Jin. After not seeing Tongtong for a long time, I was worried that she may have gone in the wrong direction. That’s why I hurried out to find her, and unexpectedly ran into Prince An and Princess An. Now I have even met Prince Jin, it’s really fate.”

“The Eighth Prince and Miss Xiao have e from afar, so you two are obviously unfamiliar with the etiquette of the Central Plains.” Xie Xuanji mented.

The two men chatted merrily keeping a respectful attitude throughout the conversation.

“There seems to be some misunderstanding. Tongtong did not mean any harm to Princess An. If she has made some mistake, I am here to make amends on her behalf.” Ye Luyan said, turning to face Mu Mingtang.

Both of them were familiar with one another’s identities following such a polite talk. Mu Mingtang could not stay silent any longer because Xiao Siyi was Beirong prince’s future Princess consort and Ye Luyan personally apologised, so she said: “The Eighth Prince’s words are too polite. Miss Xiao is an eager person, and too outspoken, I understand.”

Mu Mingtang didn’t say that she fcomave Xiao Siyi, but only said that Xiao Siyi was too outspoken. As for whether it was true or she was calling her reckless, it was a matter of opinion.

Ye Luyan was not a Han, thus he was not very skilled at these word games after all. He truly believed that the situation was resolved after hearing Mu Mingtang.

Although he apologised to Mu Mingtang, it was actually Xie Xuanchen he was apologising to. Ye Luyan would have succeeded if Xie Xuanchen hadn’t pursued the incident caused by Xiao Siyi anymore.
